Before there was an urchin fishery, abalone was king. In the sixties, ab diver Ron Radon designed a boat specifically for the rough waters of the Santa Barbara channel, and by the mid-seventies, the strong, high-speed Radons had become the standard for urchin boats on the California coast. Ron's son, Don carries on the family tradition in his Goleta boat yard. Today Radon boats can be found in ports all over the world. |
